Aramaic Bible Translation (ABT) is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 for the purpose of translating and making the Bible available in modern Aramaic languages and dialects.
ABT is incorporated in the state of Illinois and its board of directors meets every six months to review progress and annually adopt the goals for the coming year. Their purpose is to assure that ABT stays true to its vision and carries out its work with high ethical standards and financial integrity. Board members are volunteers.
The board, the administrative staff and translation teams share a deep commitment to present God's Word to Aramaic speakers through translations that are both accurate and beautiful.
Translation is being done in five languages, Assyrian, Chaldean, Ma'luli, Mardini and Suryoyo with New Testaments completed and published in all but Ma'luli which is nearing completion. Translators are now focusing on translation of the Old Testament with a number of Old Testament books completed and available online.
ABT is funded by individuals, churches and organizations who share the vision of giving God's word to Aramaic speakers in their heart language as it is spoken today.
